Volunteer

As a volunteer receptionist at Prince William County Medical Center during high school, I supported the front desk staff by greeting patients and visitors, directing them to the appropriate departments, and answering basic questions both in person and over the phone. I helped manage patient check-ins and maintained a calm, welcoming environment in a professional healthcare setting.
This role taught me the importance of clear communication, discretion, and empathy when interacting with people in vulnerable situations. I also gained experience with administrative tasks, multitasking in a fast-paced environment, and working as part of a healthcare team.
Volunteering at Novant Health gave me valuable early exposure to professional settings and helped build my confidence in customer-facing roles.
