The Dark Side of Solar Farms: Hidden Environmental and Economic Costs

For this project, I explored the hidden environmental and economic costs of solar farms. While often seen as eco-friendly, they require massive land clearing, which harms wildlife and causes erosion. Construction contributes to pollution, and the manufacturing of efficient panels generates waste and consumes energy. Aesthetics drive up costs and labor. Solar farms also use extensive land—over 500 acres—and may increase local taxes, as seen in parts of North Carolina. Although solar energy is renewable, my research highlights the need to consider its full impact on land use, ecosystems, and communities before labeling it entirely sustainable.

Driving Into the Future: The Rise of Wireless Communication in Modern Vehicles

For this project, I examined the growing role of wireless communication in modern vehicles. Technologies like Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi, and RF have enhanced driver convenience, safety, and entertainment. Features such as hands-free calling and voice-guided navigation reduce distractions. While demand for this tech is rising (projected to grow 30% by 2026), there are risks. These include hacking threats, privacy concerns, and increased vehicle and insurance costs. Despite the benefits, we must weigh these advancements against their cybersecurity and financial implications as we move toward a more connected, autonomous driving future.

Nike in Belgium Report

For this project, my team and I analyzed Nike’s public relations strategy in Belgium, focusing on cultural, economic, political, and media dynamics. We examined how Belgium’s strong infrastructure, sustainability values, and communication style align with Nike’s brand. Our research emphasized the need for Nike to adapt its messaging, leadership structure, and marketing to Belgian norms—such as formal communication, collaboration, and respect for hierarchy. By understanding local culture, law, and media landscapes, we offered strategic insights for Nike to strengthen its presence and reputation in Belgium’s diverse and influential market.

From Student to Teammate: The Real Lessons Behind Academic and professional Success

For this project, I reflected on my personal growth over the past semester, focusing on how communication, collaboration, and accountability have shaped my academic and professional development. I explored the importance of trusting teammates, managing time intentionally, and leading with empathy. This journey taught me that leadership is about connection, not control, and that real success comes from curiosity, resilience, and shared responsibility. Through these insights, I’ve become a more capable student, teammate, and future professional—ready to carry these values into every part of my life.
